Paarl’s troubadour Craig Scott is to perform at a picnic concert at the Afrikaanse Taalmonument’s Tuinteater in Paarl on Valentine’s day, 14 February. Scott is a well-known street musician in Paarl, who also regularly performs on various wine farms.

The two hour show begins at 19:30. The programme includes Afrikaans and English romantic ballads.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or order a special Valentine’s basket (R230 for two persons) from Volksmond Coffee Shop (tel. 021 863 2800).

Tickets at R25 per person are available at the gate or can be pre-bought from the Taalmuseum in Pastorie Avenue (Mon to Fri 08:30 to 16:30) or from the Taalmonument (Mon to Sun 08:30 to 19:30). The Tuinteater summer concert series is held in aid of the Taalmonument’s Reading Project for the Youth. Safe parking is available and access is controlled. No dogs or fires are allowed. The concert will be cancelled if the weather is bad.
