The renowned Afrikaans musician, Valiant Swart, is to perform at a picnic concert at the Afrikaans Taalmonument in Paarl, on Sunday 18 December. The show, which begins at 18:30, will take place on-stage, on the lawn below the monument.

Swart is regarded as one of the leading Afrikaans songwriters of the past twenty years. He is widely respected as a lyricist, and has released more than a hundred original compositions on CD to date. With over three thousand performances to his credit, either solo (with guitar and harmonica), or on a big stage, accompanied by his excellent band, a Valiant Swart show is a delightful experience for any audience.

Entrance at the gate is R50 (free under 6 years). The concert is held in aid of the Taalmonument’s Reading Project for the Youth. Safe parking is available and access is controlled. No dogs or fires are allowed. The concert will be cancelled if the weather is bad.
